Chickadees (0-18 months) Fall Session / 12 Weekly Classes
Our Chickadees Program is designed for our youngest children, ages 0 to 18 months, and their caregivers. This class offers a gentle introduction to rhythm, exploration of the natural world, and heartfelt community. Here we create a soft and supportive space for our babies and for the adults who care for them.
In this early season of life, so much is unfolding beneath the surface. Our Chickadees class honors the pace of infancy and early toddlerhood, offering a calm and nurturing environment where babies can observe, explore, and begin to experience the world alongside their caregivers.
These gatherings are structured as a weekly class, meeting for one hour. Each session is intentionally capped at 16 children maximum to preserve a sense of intimacy, ease, and connection among families.
Welcoming families from across the Boulder Valley, the Chickadees Program is guided by Wildhood’s founder and lead teacher, Kayla Hash. With a warm and attentive presence, she creates an environment where both babies and caregivers feel supported, connected, and at ease.
Our time together follows a simple and consistent flow, rooted in seasonal rhythms and gentle sensory experiences. Gatherings typically include:
– Circle time with simple songs, fingerplays, and movement
– Rhymes and connection games between caregiver and child
– Sensory-rich, open-ended exploration of our natural surroundings
– Time outdoors, as weather allows
– Spacious time for connection and play
At this stage, babies are developing a sense of safety, trust, and belonging. The Chickadees class centers the caregiver-child bond, offering opportunities for closeness, attunement, and shared experience in a peaceful and welcoming environment.
Caregivers remain an active and essential part of the experience throughout. In the spirit of our family-first approach, siblings are always welcome. We believe in supporting families being together and embracing the presence of each child.
We welcome our families in the Chickadees Program into the broader Wildhood School community, gathering throughout the year for seasonal celebrations and shared outings.
